What this site collects.
This is a personal site, not a product. It collects as little as it can while still letting me know who got in touch and whether anyone is reading. Last updated July 31, 2026.
When you use the contact form
The form collects your name, email address, and message. It also records your approximate location — country, region, and city — which my host derives from your network connection. Your IP address itself is never stored or sent with the message, and the location is coarse: city-level at best, often only region.
Submissions are processed by Formspree, which forwards them to my email inbox. I use what you send to reply to you. I do not add you to a mailing list, and I do not sell or share it.
Analytics
This site uses Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to count page views and see which pages people actually read. It records pages visited, referring source, approximate location, and general device and browser information. If — and only if — you have allowed it, it also sets cookies to recognize repeat visits.
Advertising storage is denied at all times, for everyone, whatever you choose. There are no advertising tags on this site, so there is nothing for it to do. Your choice covers analytics and nothing else.
Which question you get asked depends on where you are, because the rules do:
If you are visiting from the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland, analytics storage isdenied by default and stays denied unless you actively allow it. Until then, your visit is measured without cookies, or not at all.
Everywhere else, analytics is on by default and the banner is a notice with an off switch. If you dismiss it without choosing, that is recorded as leaving analytics on — nothing changes, you just stop being asked.
If you would rather not be counted anywhere, most browsers can block analytics outright, and Google publishes an opt-out browser add-on.
Your choice, and how it is stored
Your decision is kept in your own browser under jtsf.consent, in localStorage rather than a cookie. It holds three things: a schema version, the wordgranted or denied, and the date you chose. It is never sent to me or to anyone else, it identifies nothing about you, and it expires after twelve months, at which point you will be asked again.
You can change your mind at any time, in either direction, using theCookies link at the bottom of every page or the button below.
Hosting
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, which processes requests in order to serve pages and to protect against abuse. There are no ads and no third-party advertising trackers.
Your data
If you want to know what I hold from a message you sent, or you want it deleted, ask and I will handle it. There is no account to close and no database to comb through — it is an email thread.
